Magna Glulam Fact Sheet:
Magna Glulam is made by end-jointing small pieces of Kwila timber to make long-lengths which are glued together under pressure using a durable, structural adhesive. It is a high quality timber product with predictable strength and in-service performance. It is available in a large range of beams, posts and handrails which particularly suited to external structures where the beauty of the rich red/brown timber is to be expressed.
Standard Magna Beams:
Magna Beams are produced by a licenced manufacturer from small pieces of Kwila timber using a durable, structural glue. They are ideal for use in structures where the beauty of a rich red/brown hardwood is to be expressed or where superior strength is required.
Magna Posts:
Magna Posts are produced by a licenced manufacturer from small pieces of Kwila timber using a durable, structural glue. They are ideal for use in structures where the beauty of a rich red/brown hardwood is to be expressed or to match Kwila decking, beams or handrails.
Magna Handrails:
Magna Handrails are produced by a licenced manufacturer from small pieces of Kwila timber using a durable, structural glue. They are ideal for use in structures where the beauty of a rich red/brown hardwood is to be expressed or to match Kwila decking, beams or posts.
Magna Handling, Installation and Maintenance Instructions:
Keep Dry before installation : Kwila should be kept dry until it is coated otherwise it tends to bleed a dark coloured resin in contact with water which can spoil its appearance. If resin-bleed does occur it should be sanded off before coating it.
Material Safety Data Sheet:
MAGNA GLULAM is produced by jointing small section size Merbau timber (shooks) with structural end joints (finger-joints) of known quality and strength and face bonding the resultant laminae into larger structural members using A bond adhesives in a manufacturing process in accordance with AS/NZS 1328 – 1998 and AS 5068 – 2006. Individual shook size and length is described as a recovery material which would normally be wasted, to fully utilize the resource into a value-added engineered timber product.
