Do Treated Products Need To Be Painted? Absolutely YES, is the simple answer. The reason is that the treatment used is only a
H3 level surface treatment, which means that if the timber cracks (which it will after being exposed to the outside elements), then
these cracks will allow water to penetrate deeper into the timber at a level below where the surface treament finishes. Once this
happens, the timber will begin to decay and rot from the inside to out. It is therefore very important that a suitable exterior
quality paint is applied to the product as soon as possible, and then reapplied regularly if any cracking in the timber is noticed.
